JazzVoices – 2 amazing albums in their entirety

7 pm   Stranger, the Billy Joel album feat. Tom Seals

Stranger is the 5th studio album made by Billy Joel and he was under some pressure when he made it. Despite “Piano Man” which was his second album, sales hadn’t been great. Made in only 3 weeks with Phil Ramone as producer, the album went on to sell millions.

Tom Seals is fresh from his sell-out “Let The Good Times Roll” Tour – Tom Seals, “quite possibly the future of Jazz/Pop”, literally has the world at his fingertips. His virtuoso solo-ing, excellent improvisation skills as well as a distinctive voice have left top industry officials hailing him as one of the UK’s finest Blues/Boogie-Woogie piano/vocalists.

One of the UK’s most in-demand side men, Tom has worked with/supported established artists such as Jools Holland, Gregory Porter, Chas and Dave, Cerys Matthews, DJ Trevor Nelson, Daniel Bedingfield, Tony Christie, Lance Ellington, Kenny Thomas, Sad Cafe, Showaddywaddy, Chesney Hawkes, Steve Brookstein, Joe Stilgoe and Dame Cleo Laine.

Catch brilliant songs sung by a real star of tomorrow:

Movin’ Out
The Stranger
Just the way you are
Scenes from an Italian restaurant
Vienna
Only the good die young
She’s always a woman
Get it right first time
Everybody has a dream

Tapestry, the album by Carole King feat. Lyza

One of the most iconic albums ever made, selling over 25 million copies, by one of the most prolific songwriters ever recorded, Carole King. Produced by Lou Adler, and released in 1971 Tapestry won award after award with every song written or co-written by King.

LYZA is a Manchester based singer/songwriter, her music is a lovely blend of folk and pop with a stand-out voice that is both incredibly unique yet warmly familiar. With influences from Carole King, Joni Mitchell and Gabrielle Aplin she aims to take you on an emotional rollercoaster of love, life and loss. As well as working on her own material she has made a name for herself as one of the go to backing singers in the city which is taking her all over the country on various tours with bands and solo artists of all genres

I feel the earth move
So far away
It’s too late
Home again
Beautiful
Way over yonder
You’ve got a friend
Will you love me tomorrow
Smackwater Jack
(You make me feel like) A natural woman
