Making a very quick return after a superb double support slot in December, we welcome back one of Manchester’s favourite pianists John Ellis playing alongside master storyteller Kirk McElhinney.
Kirk produced his first album World Gone Blind at John’s studio and his second is out this very month. His craft of songwriting sits between folk and blues, and these two draw you into their world of melody and reverie.
Kirk is a passionate singer-songwriter and master of the acoustic guitar. His soulful voice and insightful lyrics mixed with a rich and vibrant mosaic of picking give him a sound that is both unique and enticing. A gig with Kirk is never the same as the last due to his free-spirited jamming style and raw energy which captivates audiences everywhere.

John’s musicianship has been utilised by well known artists such as Tom Jones, Corinne Bailey Rae, Lily Allen, John Squire (Stone Roses) and others as well as being a founder member of The Cinematic Orchestra and contributing heavily to the albums "Everyday" and "Man With The Movie Camera
