Koloro – International Trio

Koloro originated in the German port city of Hamburg; formed by three musicians from the Jazz scene in the basement of an ex stately home where the trio first played together. They began to perform regularly in the city and most recently with Gabriel Coburger at Birdland – Hamburg. Having devised a set of music with a distinctive European flavour the trio come to the UK to record their first album.
Sophia Oster (Germany) Piano/Voice
Swabian born pianist, vocalist and composer Sophia Oster is a final year student at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg and mainstay of the Hamburg Jazz scene. She studies foremost with American vocalist Ken Norris and German born pianist Buggy Braune and collaborates at the cutting edge of jazz, classical and popular music.
Mattia Galeotti (Italy) Drums
Mattia Galeotti is from Florence, and a graduate from the Siena Jazz University. He has studied with some of the best musicians on the international scene such as: Ben Wendel, Gerald Clayton, Jeff Ballard, Marcus Gilmore, Justin Brown, Becca Stevens, Gilad Hekselman, Ben Street and Matt Brewer. With Lilac For People he won the 2017 JazzAlguer contest - directed by world famous Italian trumpet player Paolo Fresu and the Midj prize at the Sienna Jazz workshop the same year.
Tommy Fuller (Barnsley) Bass
A final year Jazz student at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, Tommy Fuller studies under the large and guiding hands of UK legends Mark Hodgson, Arnie Somogyi and Mike Walker. He plays regularly with local band “The Retrosettes” and joined them on their tour of Europe supporting Simply Red.
Expect an electric fusion of the international Jazz scene with originals, reworkings of standards and world music.
